Coffee--My Hygge and My Caffeination Station Make-Over
Let me tell you about my priorities. When I wake up in the morning, I have my ritual, and it includes slippers, my robe, and a "Cup of Joe."
I grew up with the smell of coffee brewing around 5 a.m. when my dad would be getting ready for work. He had the coffee pot on an automatic brew setting. You could set your watch by the smell of roasted beans!
It wasn't until college when I'd be hunkered down in the library stacks, studying for a massive exam, that I turned to coffee. And then, of course, my career in health care with early and long hours certainly helped to perpetuate my addiction.
When we were trying to get pregnant, I decided that I should probably cut back to the suggested 1 cup of coffee/day. There's some literature and info out there about limiting caffeine while pregnant because it's safer for baby. I realize everyone can have their own opinions and each of us must do what we think is right. For me, that means one "Cup of Caffeinated Joe" per day. I haven't been too strict with myself. For instance, I'll allow myself an additional decaf throughout (even though it has some caffeine), or I'll allow myself a grande or medium sized latte, knowing there's less caffeine than other types of coffee drinks.
Needless to say, coffee is a comfort thing and a way of life. It's my hygge. So, I'm updating my kitchen coffee bar for me so I can have my "caffeination station" the way I want and need it for those sleepless nights and morning pick me ups while I'm on maternity leave. I received some awesome feedback from you all on Instagram Stories, so thank you! I'll post my final make-over this week!
Below you can get some inspo from " My Amazon Picks." They are linked to some items I found on Amazon for my caffeination station make-over! (Full disclosure--if you do buy using these links, I will get a small commission. Trying something new for when I'm not working!)
Also, here's a link to my Amazon Idea Board called, Mugs and All Things Coffee. Enjoy. <3
